Sr Enterprise/Sr Cloud Solution Architect

Brief Synopsis – SBC Innovations is seeking talent for a broadly experienced Sr Enterprise/Sr Cloud Solution Architect to join its team. This individual will play a critical role in Architecting, supervising and participate in the implementation of technologies and platforms supporting a complex corporate infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Architect high availability of systems in the enterprise that support critical business functions.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the domain architecture team to provide technical design guidance that aligns with the enterprise architecture vision and applicable technical standards.
• Provision, configure, and administer cloud environments for all security impact levels and applications on cloud platforms, such as AWS GovCloud.
• Implement and enforce stringent security protocols to safeguard sensitive government data, adhering to the Information Assurance (IA) standards (e.g., NIST).
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud application performance, ensuring optimal functionality, high availability, and swift resolution of technical issues.
• Automate routine tasks using Infrastructure as Code (laC) tools like Terraform or Ansible to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud technologies, security best practices, and evolving DoD cloud compliance requirements.
• Assess the viability and feasibility of third party solutions to meet business requirements, and to advise and influence project sponsors and teams on the technical direction.
• Planning and implementing cloud and on-prem systems and network integrations.
• Document the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures.
• Define and document architecture capturing and documenting non-functional requirements, preparing estimates and defining technical solutions to proposals.
• Provide technical leadership to project teams to perform design to deployment related activities.
• Provide guidance, perform reviews, prevent and resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders on solution development that will drive technical change.
• Work independently to evaluate and make strategic decisions that address specific technology design needs and issues within their technology area.
• Recommend improvements to existing data, application, and infrastructure architectures in areas of expertise.
• Understand the customer’s business & application requirements and translate them into system / technical requirements.
• Provide exceptional AWS technical design and thought leadership.
• Ensure success in designing, building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
• Educate customers on best practices to ensure their solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.

Preferred:

• Proven experience managing and securing cloud-based applications in a government or highly regulated environment.
• In-depth knowledge of leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) with a focus on application deployment, configuration, and security.
• Solid understanding of Linux and Windows server administration.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and scripting tasks.
• Strong working knowledge of application lifecycle management (ALM) principles.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Proven experience (15+ years) in a technical leadership role with a focus on designing scalable system architecture.
• BS in computer science, engineering, or a relevant field.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator or other related certifications.
• Experience with large-scale, multi-platform enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with automation through interaction with remote APIs (REST).
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Windows Server Technologies.
• Experience with LDAP, ADFS, SAML, or other Identity and Access Management Solutions.
• Experience with on-prem hypervisor technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering scalable and efficient backend services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Passion for staying updated with emerging technologies.
• Strong and deep technical expertise across applications, data, infrastructure, and integrations as well as strong domain knowledge on what is “best in class” digital experience for Enterprise products.

Period of Performance – Remote, with occasional in office as needed by client

Security Requirements:

• All personnel, including the support required by this initiative, must be United States Citizens and
  must meet the DOJ (Department of Justice) Residency Requirement.
• The minimum investigation required is to be cleared for a US Government Security Eligible Public
  Trust clearance.
• Eligible to receive a Top-Secret Clearance
